THE BUS USER GROUP FOR NORTH HERTFORDSHIRE

2017  ELECTIONS IN HERTFORDSHIRE


The election for Herts County Council took place on 4th May 2017.

We asked the main political parties (Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Greens) and their candidates for their views on buses.

NHBUG wish to promote bus usage and efficient transport systems in North Hertfordshire, and is politically neutral.

Any views here are as presented to us by the parties. We neither endorse nor dispute any statements.

Responses received from the parties so far:


Conservatives

Councillors Derrick Ashley, Fiona Hill, and Tony Hunter regularly attend our meetings.
The local Conservative Association responded to our request with a statement.

Labour

NE Herts. Labour has issued a policy on buses in Hertfordshire. It can be found on their website. (5th of their 10 promises).
They responded to our request with a statement, and there have been responses from individual candidates.

Liberal Democrats

The Liberal Democrats have issued the ‘Hertfordshire-Wide Manifesto’.  It  can be found on their website. (Buses feature in no. No. 5 of their ‘Fixes’). No response to our query has been received yet.
